Yesterday, Thursday 10/10/2012 was a busy day at the feeder we had our usual guests dinning, Starlings, Blue Tits and Coal Tits.  Our casual visitors, one in particular (today), caused a bit of a stir. Now I like taking photographs and I like birds, a happy choice you may think. However, you could be wrong, or perhaps I am.  Have you noticed that some birds like to pose for a camera, like this little female Greenfinch. Others, like Magpies, detest getting caught on camera.  I spotted a lovely little shot of a Magpie as it waddled its way across the roof from me as if it had not a care in the world.  As soon as I picked up my camera and pointed in its position it flew off that quick I never even spotted it in the view finder.  Others can be temperamental like this little Robin, one minute nice and posed…the next – we’re off However the prize bird of the week for the 7 – 12th October is that of the Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes), or Jenny Wren as I know the bird, I have no idea of how the Wren in UK has become known as Jenny Wren.  In all my years of bird watching I have only seen the Wren 6 times, once in a friends garden the rest as a quick flash in the wild. As you can imagine getting the chance to see one relatively close up as it bobbed its way across my garden fence, I was in deed a favour of grace, I was allowed to take its photograph but I had to be quick it only allowed me one shot before it took to the air and they can take off very quickly, I was very lucky to get this shot as I said some birds pose others do not wait arround for you. The final bird of worthwhile note and a very nice poser as well, was the Dunnock, this bird was patience itself as it posed for its photograph
